Pumpkin

How to grow:

- Best soil: deep, fertile, well-drained loamy soil rich in compost or well-rotted manure. 

- Sunscreen: full sun, 6–8 hours daily for vigorous vines and fruit set. 

- Watering: steady deep watering, especially during fruit set; reduce slightly as fruits mature to improve storage quality. 

- Nutrients: rich compost at planting and side-dress with balanced NPK; regular potassium boosts enhance flesh quality. 

- Companion plants: plant near maize as natural trellis or with beans to add nitrogen. 

- Care tips: limit to 2–3 fruits per vine for larger pumpkins, mulch to retain moisture and prevent rot, protect fruits from pests with netting or straw pad.
