Beetroot

How to grow:

- Best soil: loose, well-drained sandy loam enriched with compost for straight roots. 

- Sunscreen: full sun to partial shade (4–6 hours); cooler temps give best texture. 

- Watering: consistent moisture for even root development; avoid large fluctuations to prevent splitting. 

- Nutrients: well-rotted manure at planting; avoid excess nitrogen which favors leafy growth. 

- Companion plants: intercrop with onions, lettuce or bush beans to maximize space. 

- Care tips: thin seedlings to 7–10 cm spacing for proper root size, harvest at recommended diameter for tender roots.
